Weekend money: decide the number first
Weekends swallow flexible cash. A rand number before you leave the house keeps the fun without the fog.

Weekends are where flexible money goes to disappear. Fuel. Food with friends. A quick mall stop. None of it feels wrong in the moment. By Monday the flexible pot is thinner than you expected.
Decide before you leave
Pick a number in rands for the weekend. Write it in a note, a budget item, or your phone lock screen. It does not need to be perfect. It needs to exist.
Include transport and the "we will just pop in" risk. If the number feels tight, that is useful information before you spend, not after.
Fun with an edge
A number is not a punishment. It is an edge. You can still enjoy the weekend. You just know when you are choosing to cross the line.
Couples and flatmates can agree one shared number for a braai or night out. Solo spenders can keep a personal weekend line. Same idea.
After the weekend
On Monday, glance at what happened. No lecture. Just data for next weekend's number. Over a few weeks you get a realistic sense of your actual weekend cost of living in rands.
Budjinga helps when that number lives next to the rest of the month, so weekend fun does not silently raid the grocery or transport plan.
